The European electric vehicle market is getting a new big player. The Chinese brand Zeekr, which is aggressively expanding globally, officially presented its new performance electric model at the Brussels Motor Show: the Zeekr 7GT.

Designed specifically to meet the demands of European drivers, the 7GT is not just another electric car, but a technological powerhouse that combines minimalist design with acceleration figures that put established names to shame.

Who is Zeekr? A young “giant” under the Geely umbrella

Although it is a relatively new brand, founded only in 2021, Zeekr is not starting from scratch. It is the premium electric vehicle brand of the Chinese giant Geely Holding Group – the same consortium that owns brands such as Volvo, Polestar, Lotus and is a majority shareholder in Smart.

Unlike other Chinese brands focused on volume and low price, Zeekr positions itself as a high-tech luxury brand, competing directly with Tesla and German premium manufacturers. Their models are developed on the modern SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture) architecture, appreciated for its efficiency and safety.

Specifications that “electrify”: Autonomy and charging speed

1. Architecture and Charging (Speed ​​record)

One of the biggest advantages of the Zeekr 7GT is the 800V platform. This allows charging speeds that exceed most current electric cars in Europe:

• Charging power: Supports up to 480 kW.
• Speed: Can add 340 km of autonomy in just 10 minutes. Charging from 10% to 80% takes about 13 minutes for the 75 kWh battery (LFP technology) and about 16 minutes for the 100 kWh (NMC).
• Efficiency: The engines use silicon carbide (SiC) technology, which reduces energy losses and increases real-world range.

2. Interior: “Intelligent Cockpit” and Premium Comfort

The interior is a mix of Swedish luxury (designed at Geely’s Gothenburg center) and cutting-edge Chinese technology:

• Screens: In addition to the 13-inch instrument panel, the centerpiece is the 35.5-inch Head-Up Display (HUD) with augmented reality (AR), which projects navigation instructions directly onto the road. The central infotainment screen has a high resolution and runs on a blazingly fast Snapdragon 8295 processor.
• Materials: The seats are upholstered in Nappa leather (on the top version) and include “spa-grade” massage functions, ventilation, and heating for all passengers.
• Audio: The sound system is customizable, allowing individual settings for each passenger (for example, the driver can hear the navigation in the headrest without interrupting the music of others).
• Soundproofing: The car uses double-layer acoustic windows to ensure complete silence at high highway speeds.

3. Dynamics and Suspension

Although it is a long car (over 4.8 meters), Zeekr has focused on maneuverability:

• Active air suspension: Available as standard on the Privilege AWD version, this allows the adjustment of ground clearance and stiffness depending on the driving mode (Sport, Snow, Comfort, etc.).
• Raw Performance: The dual-motor version develops an instant torque of 710 Nm, which makes acceleration "brutal", reaching 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds.

4. Safety and Autonomous Driving (ADAS)

The Zeekr Assisted Drive package is based on impressive hardware:

• Sensors: Includes LiDAR sensors, high-definition cameras and millimeter-wave radar.
• Electronic brain: Uses two Nvidia Orin-X chips to process data in real time.

Zeekr in Romania: Official presence and distribution network

The good news for electric car enthusiasts in our country is that Zeekr officially entered Romania in the fall of 2025. The brand is represented through a partnership with the SEEAG group (under the Maxx Mobility entity), which already manages the Geely and Lynk & Co brands on the local market.

The first showrooms were opened in Bucharest, followed by locations in key cities such as Cluj-Napoca, Timișoara, Iași and Brașov. Thus, the Zeekr 7GT will benefit from complete after-sales support and a generous warranty (5+5 years), a crucial aspect for the success of a new brand.

Estimated price: How much will the Zeekr 7GT cost in Romania?

Although the official prices specific to the Romanian market may vary slightly depending on local taxes and launch offers, in the rest of Europe the starting price for the basic version (Core RWD) was announced at approximately 45,990 Euros.

For Romania, the estimates for the new 7GT are as follows:

1. Zeekr 7GT Core (75 kWh battery): approx. 46,000 – 48,000 Euro.
2. Zeekr 7GT Long Range (100 kWh battery): approx. 51,000 – 53,000 Euro.
3. Zeekr 7GT Privilege AWD (maximum performance): approx. 58,000 – 60,000 Euro.

With these prices, the Zeekr 7GT is positioned competitively in relation to the Tesla Model 3 or the Hyundai Ioniq 6, while offering a standard equipment package and a charging speed superior to many rivals.
