Škoda balance sheet for 2025: over one million cars produced and a 15% increase

Škoda: Historic performance in 2025 – Over one million cars produced and consolidated success in Romania

Czech car manufacturer Škoda Auto ended 2025 with a remarkable result, managing to surpass the symbolic milestone of one million vehicles produced globally. With a total of 1,065,000 units assembled, the brand recorded a solid growth of 15% compared to 2024, marking the best result in the last six years.

This development underlines the success of the “Next Level – Škoda Strategy 2030”, focused on international expansion and accelerating electrification.

The engine of global production: Factories and components

Most of the production was concentrated in the Czech Republic, but the brand's global footprint expanded noticeably:

  • Mladá Boleslav (Czech Republic): The main plant produced 605,600 units (+4.9%). The Fabia, Scala, Octavia, Kamiq and the Enyaq electric family are assembled here, along with the new Elroq, which has already reached 112,500 units produced since its launch in January 2025.
  • Kvasiny (Czech Republic): Here production rose to 301,500 units, being the place where the Octavia, Karoq and Kodiaq models come to life.
  • Slovakia (Bratislava): The plant contributed 69,500 units, focusing on the new generations of the Superb and Volkswagen Passat.
  • International expansion: Škoda reported record figures in India (with the new Kylaq model and doubling volumes for Slavia and Kushaq) and marked the official debut of production in Vietnam.

In addition to vehicles, Škoda produced over one million transmissions, 500,000 engines and 329,000 battery systems, half of which were for other brands within the Volkswagen Group.

Škoda in Romania: Top sales and prices

The Romanian market remains one of the most important for the Czech manufacturer. In 2025, Škoda reconfirmed its status as the Romanians' favorite, ranking 4th in the top of the best-selling brands, after Dacia, Toyota and Renault.

Key figures for Romania (2025):

  • Registered units: Approximately 11,299 new vehicles.
  • Market share: Škoda holds a share of approximately 7.2% of the total new car market in Romania.
  • Top favorite models: Škoda Octavia remains the brand's undisputed leader, closely followed by the Kodiaq and Kamiq SUVs.

Price grid (2025-2026 estimates):

Romanians appreciate Škoda for its excellent ratio between space, technology and price. Here are the starting values for the most popular models:

Model Starting Price (VAT included)
Škoda Fabia from ~€17,342
Škoda Scala from ~€18,224
Škoda Kamiq from ~€19,733
Škoda Octavia from ~€25,276
Škoda Elroq (Electric) from ~€30,655
Škoda Kodiaq from ~€36,625

A visible trend in Romania in 2025 was the increased interest in electrified versions. One in four Škoda models delivered in the region was either 100% electric (BEV) or Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV).

Conclusion

With production once again exceeding one million units and a top position on the Romanian market, Škoda looks to 2026 with optimism. The launch of future electric models, such as the Epiq urban crossover and the Peaq large SUV, promises to maintain this accelerated growth rate.
